About the Programme
Programme description
* One to one assessment/pre-group preparation sessions
* Pre-group motivational bloc
* 4 – 6 individual sessions
* 2 x 8 or 4 x 4 hour Pre-group sessions
Eligibility
Men wishing to go on the perpetrator programme must satisfy the following criteria:
* Be 18 years or over
* Agrees voluntarily to attend the programme
* Recognises that there is a problem within his relationship
Exclusions
A client may be unsuitable for the programme if any of the below apply:
* Severe/chronic mental health/psychiatric illness
* Recent convictions for firearms possession/use
* Convictions for sexual abuse
* Extensive criminal record of violent crimes
Chaotic substance abuse or chemical dependency that first requires stabilisation through a treatment programme;
Other agencies may need to be contacted for additional information if there are any issues regarding the above.
The victim and client will be advised of a client’s suitability for the programme after the individual sessions are complete. If a referral is rejected, STDAPP will also
* Document the reason/s
* Inform the victim worker
If a client meets the eligibility criteria he will be contacted and arrangements made for assessment sessions.
